4. Ash Cawlin – Pure Speech (Philli Broke Mix)
Echnoton 006 comes from Ash Cawlin. With “Old School”, Ash Cawlin delivers four tracks rooted in the raw, direct and uncompromising spirit of the Berlin underground. The title track “Old School” is joined by the Philli Broke Mix, bringing a different perspective and atmosphere to the original. On the B-side, “Pure Speech” gets the same treatment, with another distinctive remix by Philli Broke. Ash Cawlin represents a sound with character. No polished formulas, no unnecessary decoration — just pressure, atmosphere and attitude. Music shaped by the Berlin underground and made for the places where it belongs: the club. Taking care of the two remixes is Philli Broke, a Berlin-based producer with roots going back to the 1990s. Coming from the world of Dub Techno and Chill Out, he has been producing for decades, with his first releases appearing in 2013 under Philli Broke and D.B.G.R.N.D. His approach adds a deeper, more spacious dimension to both tracks, creating a strong contrast to Ash Cawlin’s original versions while keeping the underground spirit intact. Echnoton 006 – Old School is not about looking back. It is about remembering what made underground music matter in the first place. Raw. Deep. Berlin. Echnoton.

With Echnoton 005, Talisman and Ash Cawlin deliver a uncompromising release straight from the heart of Berlin’s underground techno scene. Rooted in the raw aesthetics of abandoned industrial spaces and shaped by modern, driving sound design, this record merges hypnotic energy with emotional depth. At its core is “Scarecrow Pt. 2” by Talisman – a dark, pulsating track built on heavy drums, metallic textures, and subtle layers of tension. The sound feels like an echo from an empty factory hall: raw, direct, and gripping. The DJ Wimpy Remix elevates the hypnotic structure even further, adding more drive for the dancefloor with a precise sense of dynamics and timing. With “Sylv.me”, Talisman expands the spectrum into a more atmospheric and introspective space – a track that unfolds gradually while never losing its raw intensity. Ash Cawlin contributes “Seele” and “Go Impuls”, bringing a personal yet powerful signature to the release. “Seele” merges emotional depth with industrial strength, while “Go Impuls” is designed as a driving peak-time track – direct, uncompromising, and built for dark, vibrating club nights. This release stands as a reflection of modern Berlin techno: stripped to the essentials, driven by authenticity, and defined by a relentless sonic aesthetic. Echnoton 005 is more than just a record – it’s a statement from the underground.
